The Girl Scout Council of South Florida is looking for volunteers to help with everything from mentoring Girl Scouts to office work.

The group wants role models for girls who can show them how to be leaders. The organization is looking for people to be troop leaders, hold Skype sessions or even stuff envelopes for a few hours.

The group is one of 112 chartered Girl Scouts councils in the country and serves more than 20,000 girls in Florida. Visit girlscoutsfl.org to learn more about the organization. For specific questions, or to learn more about volunteer needs in Miami-Dade and Monroe Counties, email info@girlscoutsfl.org or call (305) 253-4841.

The council is also hosting a Tropical Tastings Cook-Off fundraiser on May 3 at Camp Choee, 11347 SW 160 St., Miami. Tickets cost $50 and can be purchased at girlscoutsfl.org or with a check send to Camp Choee.

Girls interested in joining the Girl Scouts can visit girlscoutfl.org/JOIN. Early bird registration begins May 5.
