    LEGO

    An exhibition of new work by LEGO artist Nathan Sawaya returns to the Art and Culture Center of Hollywood. The Replay exhibit will feature family-friendly sculptures made up exclusively of LEGO brick. Scheduled group tours will get a chance to create their own LEGO artworks. The exhibit runs through Aug. 15 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday-Saturday and noon-4 p.m. Sundays. Admission: $7 for adults; $4 students, seniors and children ages 4 through 17; free for kids 3 and younger.

    WaterWorks: Soak up the Science

    WaterWorks: Soak up the Science is a new exhibit running through September 6 at the museum. Families can enjoy several spectacular displays that show how water is an essential part of our lives, in our homes, water treatment plants, oceans and glaciers. Kids can pilot a model submarine, play water pinball, measure their own personal water use and watch a movie starring Walter the Water Molecule. A special summer Bubble Bash event will happen from noon to 4 p.m. July 17-19 and Aug. 21-22. This will allow for more hands-on physics fun with bubble-making devices, music water bottles, water-can crushing and other water-based science experiments. Dress to get wet. The museum is open Monday to Saturday 10 a.m.-5 p.m.; Sunday noon-6 p.m. Admission: $16 for adults, $15 seniors, $12 kids 2 to 12, free for kids under 2.

    The World of Giant Insects

    Animated robotic insects are enlarged 40 to 600 times their actual size. The exhibit includes a praying mantis, stick insect, beetles, caterpillar, and a locust. Other interactive displays include enlarged mosquitoes, honeybees, and a dragonfly. The exhibit runs through Aug. 1. The zoo is open daily 10 a.m.–5 p.m. Admission is $15.95 plus tax for adults; $11.95 plus tax for kids. Miami Metrozoo is a partner in the MomsMiami Summer Fun Pass.     Dino Island exhibit

    A prehistoric adventureland featuring robotic dinosaurs is the latest exhibit at the museum. See them walking, feeding, roaring, fighting, hatching and caring for their young. Plus an erupting volcano. Admission is $15 for adults and children, $12 for Florida Residents, free for children under 1 year. The exhibit runs through Jan. 2.     K'Nex: Building Thrill Rides exhibit

    This exhibit, sponsored by MomsMiami, gives kids the chance to learn about the science, math and technology behind thrill rides. It runs through Sept. 19. The museum is open 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday-Saturday; noon to 5 p.m. Sunday.     Once Upon a Mattress

    The Roxy Theatre Group, a nonprofit arts organization for children, performs "Once Upon a Mattress", featuring a cast of 35 students, ages 12-22 and an orchestra of students from the Greater Miami Youth Symphony. The musical comedy is fused with love, magic, and plenty of zany adventures. Shows will be 8 p.m. Fridays & Saturdays and 3 p.m. Sunday through Aug. 1. Tickets are $20. There will be a cocktail reception and after-show party on July 24, at 7 p.m. and tickets are $50. All proceeds benefit the group's scholarship fund.

    Are We There Yet

    This musical comedy tackles the question Are We There Yet. The typical bumps, u-turns, and road blocks play out onstage through the eyes of the modern American family that may seem strangely similar to your own. Shows are 8 p.m. Wednesdays-Saturdays and 2 p.m. on Sundays through Aug. 15. Tickets are $40 Wednesdays, Thursdays and Sundays; $48 Fridays and Saturdays. Doors open 30 minutes before each show.
